The objective of the game is to make melds, which are sets of 3 or more cards in the same order or of the same rank, and eliminate the deadwood, which are the remaining unmatched cards. Face cards count for 10 points, and the ace counts for 1. The rest of the cards count for their respective numbers. You can set the winning score to be as low as 100 points or as high as 300.

Luck plays a role in the game, but strategy is equally important. If you pick a card from your opponent’s discarded pile and make a hand from it, the points from that hand are transferred from your opponent to you. Additionally, if your deadwood score is lower than your opponent’s, you receive bonus points. There are different difficulty levels available, catering to both beginners and professionals. You don’t need to be the best player right from the start.
